Is Echo's special attack Emp grenade supposed to clear stacks of courage?

- I had it happen today in arena, JKA had 16 stacks of Courage, Echo used his emp, and they disappeared ?

Was it courage(blue) or just the 16 stacks of protection up?- Courage isn't a "buff," so no. It should be able to clear stacks of Protection Up before they are converted to Courage, though.
