I'm closing in on finishing up my Jedi and first order teams, and I've been looking to develop empire characters for the next r2-d2 event. I'lol be going back to working on rebels more once the yoda event is done, but they're honestly my least favorite faction to play with. I really like death trooper and should be able to farm him relatively soon (I'm level 79). With your current toons, I would just finish up Palpatine(L), Vader, Tarkin, Deathrooper, and either TFP or RG. The event is pretty easy with a Palpatine lead.

- Work ur way to get palpatine to *7 (require 5 rebels *7)- Always buy vader when he appear in fleet store- Farm tarkin from arena shipment- Farm RG from hard node n cantina- Farm magma from GWDone.. u have 5 *7 chars to get r2d2 *7.. easiest way.Deathtroop is long farm. To make him great u need krennic. Krennic is very slow farm, only in 1 hard node.

Assuming you only want 5* R2, get Tarkin, RG, and TFP up to 5* and you should be good. Gear em up to at least 8.

However, if you want 7* (since it will be a long while before R2 comes back), then you've got a really long way to go. Start with your Rebels, get EP to 7* (you should really do this first anyways as EP will show up before R2). Vader will take a long time since those achievements don't get you overly far, farm from fleet shipments religiously. Focus on Tarkin in Arena Shipments. Then use cantina to get TFP and finally RG. RG will take the longest due to 16 energy requirement.

Magma is easier than RG. RG is more useful, but if you can pass with magma, go magma

With your current toons, I would just finish up Palpatine(L), Vader, Tarkin, Deathrooper, and either TFP or RG. The event is pretty easy with a Palpatine lead.

I'm in a similar boat - do you think a Palp (L), Vader, TFP, Magma & Tarkin team would work for a 7-star R2? Essentially, is RG critical enough that leaving him off of my 7-star team is a big problem?

TFP makes it easy if you can't get deathtrooper. With buff inmunity, you can kill Old Ben before Chewbacca. Plus he can one-shot Han, Luke, and Leia.

RG is not really necesarry.. if u can bring ur toons to gear 9.

Here's my empire toons. To get R2-D2 I used palp lead g10 with Vader (G8), Magmatrooper (G8), TFP (G9) and Stormtrooper (G8). It was a tough fight at 7* tier but was able to clear the entire event pretty quickly. If you have the time and patience I highly recommend all of the imperial troopers except for maybe stormtrooper (the other troopers are better)

Look at the newly redesigned stormtrooper in Cantina store. He may be better then RG now .
He now can remove 10% TM from each enemy when damaged while taunting. He has a taunt duration of 4.
