Here's my empire toons. To get R2-D2 I used palp lead g10 with Vader (G8), Magmatrooper (G8), TFP (G9) and Stormtrooper (G8). It was a tough fight at 7* tier but was able to clear the entire event pretty quickly. If you have the time and patience I highly recommend all of the imperial troopers except for maybe stormtrooper (the other troopers are better)
