Empire possibly viable with magma trooper?
Just my 2 cents on magma trooper but he's got some nice turn meter manipulation and if paired with a max Tarkin as speed leader and royal gaurd and maybe a glass cannon or two for slots 4 & 5 on paper...

AOE damage are rather weak without Sidious as leader. Vader will be underperforming in terms of damage because he will be at 5 stars. RG is a great tank+controller but he hardly does any damage. The only person that might be able to do some heavy single target damage is Snowtrooper but I am not sure how viable he will be.
I guess my answer for that is my approach with 1 or 2 non empire glass cannons and let the empire heroes slow the enemy team down and offense down from Tarkin who is like an old Ben but with speed leader etc...
But this is all speculative and for me just looks like potential on paper.
