Enemy capital ship always going first?

I’m slowly getting adjusted to ships 2.0 and actually enjoy it now. While admittingly not alway focusing on the best/smartest ships I have now a fleet that enjoy playing and do reasonably well with. However I notice that in every single fight the enemy capital ship gets their turns before mine and i don’t u derstand why. My Chimera is at 152 speed and Thrawn is fully maxed except for his zeta leader ability. Unless I’m always meeting fully maxed opponents in mirror matches I reckon I should get to go first in about 50/50 of the matches. Am I missing something or do others experience the same thing? Any advice on what I can do to improve Chimeras starting speed would be appreciated (apart from zeta Thrawns leader ability, I’m kind of broke on zetas).

  • Fair enough will do that next time. But it amounts to the same thing doesn’t it? If you dont have everything maxed you don’t get max speed. If he didn’t have any zetas on Thrawn but the rest maxed he would get 151 in speed and I have 152, unless there is something else i have missed.

to be honest, i don't know. Maybe full max without zeta's is also 152. That's why i just check speed ^_^

Since your speed is 152 and they are 153, yes the other ship will always go first, without some sort of TM manipulation.

If you fight a mirror where they are 152 also, then RNG will decide.

Yes I get that, but in this last fight his Thrawn didn’t have any of his abilities zetad so he shouldn’t have been faster than mine, I should have been faster than him. I haven’t looked at all the other Thrawns in every fight but it seems a bit unlikely that they all have been completely maxed or that rng would have made them go first in every single fight.

Should have been faster or the same speed?

Define "every single fight", because 50/50 is not hard to get a coin to flip the same side up in a small sample size.

I can say with 100% certainty, if no TM manipulation is involved. These 3 things are true:
    1) the faster ship will go first.
    2) the slower ship will go after the faster one
    3) RNG decides the the tie when the ships have the same speed

I have gone 3 attacks where I went first the first move on the same person, but the opponent won the coin toss on the ultimate turn. I have had strings of never going first, i have had strings of always going first. It may happen in streaks, but in the end it's all 50/50.

I really mean every single fight in mirror matches, but regardless you must be right. I haven’t really checked speed before and it is entirely possible that my opponents have been completely maxed and that I have had bad luck with rng in those fights where we were at the same speed. I was just thinking that there maybe were something else to it that I was unaware of, like that maxing ship abilities somehow effected turn order or something. Thanks for the replies ppl!
  • Two people in this thread already mentioned that the max speed is 153. Take one zeta off and it's 152, so now it's RNG who goes first.

Yes I am aware of that, and I realize that for most fights that must have been the case. What confunded me was that when I checked my opponent in my last fight I had more zetas than him and he still went first with no tm manipulation imvolved.

It also makes a difference if you have all five dot mods on thrawN,

You would be better off to post a link to you .gg if you want help that is relevant to your roster

    I did.

    Lol, yup, I’m blind ;)

You have none of the chimaera abilities leveled up? Your stats show zero, That may play a roll in hitting the power level threshold for the last speed point prior to a zeta as well .

Yeah I have levelled them a bit, don’ Know why it would show as zero? But it is most likely as stated above, the competition is just better than me;)

And everything else was the same? It's not just about zetas, that was my point.

My thrawn is completely maxed except his leader zeta and have all 5 dot mods so I don’t see what else could have differed?
  • apparently its just confirmation bias. However like you, I swear when i fight another 152 Chimaera they always get ultimate first. no tfp dodges or reaper in play.
