Fortunately for you, relics are very achievable for a f2p playing as long as you have.
Length of time playing has little to do with acquiring relics. It’s about cantina energy and some top end gear that can come from hstr. So, you can be playing casually from day 1, yet still not be in an hstr guild or not getting top 10 if you are.
Bottom line, no matter how long you’ve been playing, it takes time grinding or money to acquire the gear needed to get to G13 and the pieces needed for relics.
Shard shop and fleet table would like a word with you.
Of course it takes time grinding. Which is something a launch player has had plenty of.
Granted, the longer one plays the more opportunity they have. I still say it’s more about how you spent that time playing rather than just the length of time since they downloaded the game.
if you started years ago but don't play much your levels and gear will reflect that? I agree.
