Saying "I have a maxed speed team that crushes droids if you can't do that then your team sux!" really isn't helpful advice.
I don't know what do you mean saying "OP". Probably you mean the guy who started this thread. So we clearly don't know what characters he is using. He didn't tell us. He wanted to know how to beat droid team and one of the answers is: use speed team. We gave him this answer, right? So i think this is helpful advice.
Now about this "fully geared" thing. You don't need to be "whale" and spending hundreds of dollars to have decent team. I'm absolutely FTP and using speed characters in arena. At this moment QGJ(6*), Limi(7*), Sid(7*), GS(7*), Dooku(5*). This is easy achievable for a month and a half for everyone. These 5 characters are faster than any of the opponent droid team char. So you have 5 moves(!) before he is able to do anything. I don't have other characters and i can't give some other advice about different tactics. But these toons are easy farmable for everyone and can ensure the victory against droids. That is my experience, i don't have any other. I think this is a good advice.
