I wholeheartedly agree that GG is in desperate need of a rework/major buff. I've been a long time droid user from the time I started playing (march 2016) to about a couple of weeks ago, where I switched to a wiggs team because I just can't compete anymore on my shard with a droid team. And yes I have a maxed 7* GG which - in its current state - I regret farming.
I've tried using several different droid team combinations including GG but I always ended up replacing him with someone else as I found him to be underperforming. With time passing I found it harder and harder to stay in the top 10 with my droids, and then it was hard to even stay in the top 20, and about two months ago after a couple of payouts outside of the top 20 I figured that I needed to switch teams to keep up with the competition, so I started farming more "meta" toons like wiggs.
Now I run Wiggs/JKA/Han Solo/Shoretrooper(4*) and I'm always in the top 10 and more often than not top 5. I'm also farming Boba, TFP and Baze and planning to add them soon.
Point being, I don't think that droids are competitive anymore in the current meta and especially not GG, which really is a shame because he is a very hard character to get that requires a lot of time and dedication, so it is pretty awful that he is so underperforming. At least that's my opinion according to my own experience as a highly active P2P player in a march shard. I really hope EA reworks him fast because he deserves to be a lot better than his current state.
