Geo viability

Okay, now that I’ve invested the resources to g12 the Geo pilots, I’m not sure I can really find any use for them. I figured they’d work best under AA for the extra prot from assists, but as a starting lineup they still are squish and since sun fac only taunts against buffed enemies, they get slaughtered pretty quickly, so has anyone who has actually geared them had a better experience? I’m thinking of having them as reinforcements instead, but I’m not sure enough would get called in before, especially prior to the opponents thrawn getting his ultimate off.

They looked viable and have gotten a good deal of hype, but to me, Ships 2.0 thus far just seems like a much more RNG dependent version of ships 1.0. Everyone still runs Thrawn, Biggs, and some tie fighters and the match comes down to which the capital ships ultimate.

I figured that the changes would actually bring an in game change, but thus far it looks like I just wasted a pile of gear on toons that I can’t use anywhere else in the game and still aren’t even viable pilots.

  • Apparently the ship discord decided Geo Trio was best when run under Chimaera. Give that a try?
  • Sun Fac is better off the bench.

    I like many of the changes so far, but I will be honest and say that the other 3 ok tanks - Sun Fac, Clone Sarge and Boba - are all better off the bench. So really the only viable starting tank is still Biggs + someone with TL. After more than a year of that staleness I cant belive there was not a change made to that part of the Meta. Kinda shocked at that. Big miss there.
  • I wouldn't doubt if we see a separatist capital ship in the future to run them under and that could change the ball game.

    That may be the only way to make this recent investment in them worth it at all. I’ve seen some straw man vids by the ‘gamechangers aka the - ‘EA marketing team’ about their viability, but they of course have completely maxed ships, and which would take months of omegas from the ship challenge to actually get. That it buying a mats pack for $35, which of course there is no chance I’d go that far for what already looks like a sub par team over Biggs plus TL.

  • Geo Soldier is one of the best attackers in the game even if nobody uses him in the arena.Sun Fac is one of the best tanks you could have and i'm using both of their ships.Also i use Geo Soldier everytime in the Rancor raid just for the tons of damage and assists he gets.

    I have tried that comp, but the problem is that it requires Spy’s passive ability to be fully omegaed to be viable. That ability give spy and soldier stealth when spy takes damage, leaving Biggs unstealthed to tank it up. Then SF can get called with the first reinforcement to double stun.

    Unfortunately I put the ship omega mats I had on Sun Fac first, and since I won’t waste money on the ship mats pack, I’ve got a good while before I’d have the mats since the zeta challenge is the only way to acquire ship omega mats.

    The comp ‘looks’ viable for offense, but even still, it wouldn’t take long for people to realize that if they just focus down soldier and leave spy alone, Biggs can’t taunt since there are no target locks; so in the end, while it could beat a tie, Vader, Biggs lineup on O, so long as the CPU doesn’t focus soldier, it would lose to that same lineup every time on D, making the same old Biggs + tie fighters the stronger overall comp.

    That comp was put out there by the 3rd party EA hype machine known as the ‘Gamechangers,’ probably to make them ‘look’ more viable than they really are (and had all of their abilities fully omegaed just to make it work against the current teams).
