You know I never really noticed until you pointed it out but yes it does seem like it is working differently.
First with the b1 thing, yes it should kill b1 because the way b1s kit is worded. When he takes any kind of damage (whether from attacks, dots, exposes, or plague) he will lose droid battalions no matter what. So when GG does damage to him its taking away droid battalions and should kill him off.
However the second point is the one I never noticed until now. If GG takes a bonus turn and is already at 100% turn meter then his turn starts and kills off a b1 then he will take an immediate turn afterward. I have seen this numerous times before but never questioned it. Technically speaking it should not happen since b1 dies at the start and since GG is already taking a turn it theoretically should not cause him to go again just bu the wording of his kit. It seems to be working like, for every droid that dies it grants GG an extra turn.
This interaction will only happen with b1 because he is the only droid that can die at the beginning of his turn so I dont know if it warrants that much of a change, but since you will almost always see GG with b1 I guess it will happen 99% of the time you face a GG
