Guild war failures

I have been playing for about 5 months now and I am at level 85 with all the normal F2P characters at 7* all at level 9 and above.with 4 and 5 star mods
But I can literally count on 2 hands how many Guild wars I have completed!
99% of the time I can get to last node but just get wasted.
I have tried multiple squads changing them around etc. but it just doesnt seem to make any difference.
I have other guys in my guild who smash it everyday with worse teams than i have?
some days the last 4 or 5 nodes are all 85 levels.I thought it would get easier but it has been the same since day 1.
is there a couple of definitive 'go to' squads to use for GW or am i just unlucky?
  • I think your referring to Galactic War, not Guild War? I don't know what guild war is?

If you are referring to galactic war, a lot of the "trick" or solution to GW is focusing attacks on toons that are gonna wreck your day the longer they stay heathy/ living. My guess is, If your other guild mates are beating / finishing GW with squads lesser than yours than you must be attacking in the wrong order or precedence?

There are a lot of videos out there to help guide you on who / what to attack / take out first. That is a very important part to being able to finish a GW. The other thing I would recommend is; do not start out with your A-Team first.... Save them for later when you run into those "god" squads.

Again, there is a lot of good videos out there on GW... I would search here on the forums and you tube, hopefully it will help you.
  • ok cheers.my droid and jawa are rubbish still, only about 6*
I have 3 squads I tend to use.
Yoda, Leia,Scarif, luminari and teebo. / then palp, 5's, Vader, RG and fett / and 1st choice Wiggs, lando, ST han and luminari. sometimes I swap teebo with luminari.
but even so still get wasted mostly at 12
  • hi yes, sorry i meant galactic war.
I tend to try and save my wiggs team till last but these days everybody has baze and shoretrooper and zeta vader, so just get wasted!
  • What I got told to do was send your A team in on the first 'easier' battle and load their turn meters up then run your B and C squads as far as you can after that. If you can get to the last battle or two bring in your A team again. You'll get your shots off first as they're turn meters will be full and should be easier to take out as many as possible. Then send in the rest to mop up if needed.
  • A couple of tricks:

Send in suicide squads. Certain teams (especially Zader/EP lead or Droid teams) have a huge initial burst, but poor basic attacks. Mix and match your suicide squad with junk characters to try to draw out as many of the nasty skills as you can.

Abuse the random seed. With a given leader, you will always get the same results taking the same actions. Get 0/5 stuns from your EP? That's okay, just shift one of your basics earlier to another target and get a 5/5 stun instead.

Preload TM on 1-3 backup teams. I admittedly haven't had to do this for awhile, but when I was struggling in GW I did it regularly. Use nodes 1-2 & 4-5 to get your backup teams a bunch of TM without really losing any protection.

Run a stall squad. For a long time my GW team was Old Ben / Daka / RG / Lumi / Lando. Painfully slow nodes, but this team could basically take on any team in the meta without losing a single character. This team took so many bogus actions (Old Ben basic, Lumi basic, etc) that I could switch them around and manipulate the random seed to get maximum stuns & dodges.
  • hi, thanks for all the tips.
I didn't realise that TM carried over, I just thought abilities did!
