Han Zolo interfering with speed?

I'm a bit confused about what is happening with the order in which characters get to attack since I added Han to my team.

I've fought multiple battles where my R2 is the fastest character on the board.

I open with Han and stun the opponent's R2. Speed dictates my own R2 should then go next, but instead it keeps happening that multiple other characters go ahead of him, and even though my R2 is the fastest character the opponent gets two or three moves before me (Han aside).

What is causing this? Is it something to do with an opponent's CLS zetas?

  • CLS gains 20% TM from Han's double shot, goes next, inflicts 2 debuffs, gives everyone 10% TM

Yep. I've learned the hard way you have to be careful with your leader abilities. I was going insane stunning Thrawn under Rex leads only to have him immediately unstun and fracture me before anyone went. Then I realized the crit hits of my rebels sped them up. I especially hate facing teams with Rex, Chirrut, and Thrawn because you can either take off Thrawn's protection with your opening double tap or hit the fastest of the cleansers and do the same. They're a frustration to Han.

    Similar situation with CLS lead.

Han Solo's zeta is a great advantage in most cases, but in this instance you have to be especially careful as it approaches a liability for that first shot. Instead of a stun, just plan on getting the opening shot and determine who would best be served by removing protection. I'll often do the weakest member so I can take them out with an AOE shot once my Han triggers both TM increase and auto-taunt. That way I still get my 5-4 advantage - it just takes a bit longer and some additional planning.

    I call that good balance

How does that solve the problem?

Luke gets the turn meter, but on his turn he just clears the stun instead of inflicting debuffs and thus granting more turn meter to his team.
  • You seem to be forgetting the op said his r2 was fastest but couldn't move because of Luke's tm gain, if you stun luke no one else gains tm so r2 is free to do his thing

But if you're also facing Rex and/or Chirrut, it doesn't seem like it's anything more than a very short-lasting bandaid. Granted, hardly anyone uses Rex in a non-leader capacity and Chirrut is around less, but the double cleanse is something I seem to come upon quite often even under Luke leads.

Were you referring to teams with Luke but not other cleansers?

I was referring to if someone insists on using Raid Han in this situation. Shooting Luke is the right choice in that scenario.

It's a losing scenario, though, because characters that gain benefits when you do things is the counter to Raid Han. Using him in that case is like throwing rock because you like making fists, even though your opponent already put paper out there 5 minutes ago and let you choose after.

Raid Han is a great character. But even great characters have counters. Have a broad roster so you can overcome any situation.
