Thrawn is awesome in pretty much all game modes. In Rancor his fracture slows the beast down and has unresistable TM removal. He also restores protection and gives extra turns to other toons. He's best under Zader so his basic also removes TM, but still good if you don't have Zader.
I auto solo with Zader, Thrawn, Jyn, TFP and tarkin. You can probably solo with thrawn and jyn in there in place of ezra and phasma, though probably not on auto unless your guys are really fast.
I'm running that team too and I can solo almost all auto in 20'.
