I think the offense up is the key. Most geos run under tarkin or ackbar. I don't think they give offense up. And I think geos need offense up to make each attack stronger than the bonus protection.
Though I haven't tested it because my geos are horrible and I don't plan on gearing them. Vader and tf dispel and kill ht easily enough.
