No matter what a character is, GL, epic confrontation or random character, newer ones will always beat the old ones. Case and point armorer JKL and Jedi Revan can 3 man the SLKR FO team
JKL is newer than Rey and SLKR but he cannot solo them by himself. So your point is not always true.
