Soooo, update:
I've tried a few of the combos mentioned and the truth is that even the clever ones only work 'meh.' For example, I was pretty excited about IGD (L) with Anakin, Guardian, Old Ben, and Zarriss. Basically every time they basic strike OR counterattack, they're applying a debuff:
Anakin: buff and healing immunity applied on basic
Guardian: Offense down on basic
IGD: Defense down on basic
Old Ben: Evasion down on basic
...and Zarriss just to keep them all alive.
The theorycrafting here is decent, but they're too pathetic to make it worthwhile. It was pretty awesome when they all hit the same character and that one sap was slow, weak, and low defense while also unable to heal or buff. But it wasn't enough to make up for the fact that they just can't hit hard enough to really hurt anything. And their staying power is mediocre at best. I tried this with an Anakin lead instead and they hit a bit harder, but not enough to make a difference.
Everyone performs better under a zQGJ lead for sure. Gen Kenobi, Ezra, Aayla, and GM Yoda under his leadership was a decently strong team - the best I've found so far. Still not stellar, but replacing GM Yoda with his older, more giggly Dagobah version might help. I'm working on that.
The other teams were definitely fun. I loved GK lead, Anakin, Ahsoka, Luminara, Barris. Just like a Clone Wars episode, and everytime Lumi or Barris healed, everyone got to launch a team attack. And replacing Lumi and Barris with Rex and Cody was like an old reunion. They didn't do bad, but they didn't do great either.
None of my Jedi are gold-ring yet, although since I wrote this post, I promoted JKA from 9 to 11. I'm taking Ezra from 10 to 11 next and then it's either Aayla or Ahsoka to 11. I probably can't stop myself from G11-ing Mace, even though I know it's pointless. The others I'll just take to 10. Then I can decide who gets the gold rings, although I'm pretty sure Gen Kenobi, Barris, and QGJ are up first.
If you guys try any of this nonsense yourself, let me know, and I'll keep you posted! And let's all cross our fingers and toes for a Jedi rework in the next few months!
