Is IG-86 viable in non Droid team?

Yes. He's arguably the easiest farm in the game (JC is close) and is the highest per-turn FTP damage dealer next to Rey.

At level 76 his basic, one of the best in the game, gets a 15% boost and at 78 he gets his assist cooldown reduced by 1. So OP now and very OP then.

He does do a little more when IG-88 is around.

Supposedly yes but that's pretty hard to confirm. I will say that he crits quite frequently by himself. Obviously with a HK or IG-88 lead he is practically an auto-crit.
