You'll still be stuck using her as a healer for a while in Dark Side missions, but she just generally sucks for any other purpose.
I'm 56 and beating GW most of the time. I don't totally understand the disparagement of Talia. I have a pretty shallow bench and at lvl5 4*, gl5 I find her to be a decent sub, particularly after a tough battle with a 62 in purple gear when my lumi and JC are low. And for dark side missions I find her a requirement even with Daka. That old ben node with all the Jawas...FML. I don't know how you could do it w/o 2 healers or being several levels ahead and GL7 on main team.
In addition, I found it necessary to level her early on as probably the only actually (potentially) viable DS toon I had. I had her 4* before I got my first lumi shards.
