Katarn omicron clarification

On Katarn’s omicron ability, it says he gains TM at the start of battle for each Jedi ally. His non-omicron level of the ability does that for Rebel Fighters. So does that mean with the omicron the TM bonus for Rebel fighters is lost and it only comes with Jedi allies, or does it mean that he gets that bonus from either one?
  • Either, I'm pretty sure. Otherwise the omicron would switch off his RF synergy and lock you into only using with jedi. As most of the wording in the omicron addition includes RF synergy I see no reason to think it would turn off the TM bonus for RF, or any of the other bonuses in the unique before the omicron.

Of course he can benefit more from jedi with the omicron, as the leader can be Jedi as well, unlike MM not being a RF.

That was my thought, but I could see them thinking that the rest of the omicron ability makes him too powerful with that bonus so they switched it. Not outside the realm of possibility.
  • Rebel fighters with Kyle are sooo good in TW that this omicron is utterly useless ;-)
I get 4/4 with them in each phase

Rebel Fighters WITHOUT Kyle were already an all but guaranteed 4/4. The omicron is just there to allow him to be used with a Jedi squad instead of RF. And since there are often multiple Jedi squads required it's a nice little boost if you're looking to max your Geo TB performance
