Magma or stormtrooper for my empire team?

If you're going after R2, Stormtrooper is your better option as you can't use turn meter reduction in the event, which makes Magma nearly useless.

Long-term for a Zader raid team, Magma's great. Even post-nerf I can still do close to 4 million damage with a somewhat undergeared Zader squad.

Magmatrooper is a lot easier to farm, but neither is particularly good. If you just need a filler, then go for Magma. Otherwise go for Snowtrooper. Snowtrooper is fantastic.

I'd go Snowtrooper over Magma. I hear Magma is really hard to gear.

Stormtrooper > Magmatrooper...Why?
Tankier, cool name & isn't useless outside of 1 bloody team.

I like Magma personally

As well as in the guild store top middle slot. Plus if you have a bunch of ally points saved up he's a fairly common drop from Bronziums.

I concur with the Snowtrooper suggestions. He's very useful for the Endor event.
