I think many people struggling try to use the same squad in Arena and GW, they are 2 diferent beasts. Chewie-Fives-JC-Lumi-Daka, for example, would be awful in Arena and good in GW.
That said, the single more important factor to win is matchmaking. I'm pretty sure it's heavily dependant on your server
