I think arena rank makes a big difference. I deliberately kept my rank low until recently and now on my 7th battle, I am facing a full level 62 team. I am level 46.
Also, I've noticed high-level teams are often populated with weak players, which balances out the difficulty. Are the squad members level 62 and 6* purple, or are they low star and low gear? Out of curiosity, what's your squad's power?
