That'll depend largely on the rest of your shard.
I've just transitioned even though one of my characters still has level 3 abilities, and I'm easily holding a good 200-300 ranks higher than I did with my Phoenix team. My shard is full of Wiggs, Palpatine lead Empire/Sith, Nightsisters, and a handful of other teams (First Order, Resistance, the occasional JTR team, occasional non-Palpatine lead Sith/Empire, occasional Rogue One or Jedi team).
Lol that sounds a lot like my shard. Most of the top 100 in my shard are some Palpatine variant, a lot with Darth Sion, sometimes oddly with Palpatine on the team but not in the lead. The rest is Wiggs, Nightsisters, some First Order mix, or some Sith mix. There are rarely any Rogue One, Jedi, or JTR teams.
About a month ago, I was able to beat most of these Palpatine teams with my Phoenix team. Over the past 3-4 weeks though, something changed, and these Palpatine teams started crushing me, which is weird because the Palpatine/Vader rework was 2+ months ago (I think). Before that happened, I was getting close to be able get into top 20 (but never could b/c I got pushed back too far every day), but I've been getting pushed back further and further every day. I used to be able to reliably get back into the top 50 on most days. Now I'm lucky to stay in the top 100. I can push to about 60-80 most days, but sometimes it's hard. I can beat Palpatine teams only about 5-10% of the time, any team with Darth Sion is an automatic loss for me, I can beat Wiggs about 30-40% of the time - it's an attrition fest with a lot of RNG. Oddly enough, I can beat Nightsister teams almost 100% of the time, they are easy - unless they have stealth archer cheese in which case it's RNG whether the archer drops out of stealth before time runs out.
So it's probably time to hang up Phoenix. I've stopped aggressively leveling up my Phoenix gear and focusing on Vader/others/fleet toons. I don't think I'll be able to gear up Phoenix and the transition team simultenously. I only put Omega on Ezra's basic so far - I only have 12 omega shards left so I'm saving them for my Empire team, I guess. I have KRU now but he's not combat ready.
My biggest two questions with my transition team are whether they'll be able to beat the all the Palpatine/Sion teams that make up most of my shard, and how to mod them. The only mod advice I see about modding Palpatine/Vader teams is outdated or short on detail.
This is the only thread that I could find on reworked Vader: https://forums.galaxy-of-heroes.starwars.ea.com/discussion/157725/how-to-mod-reworked-vader-palp
Everything else is 2017 or earlier. And all it says is get speed/potency. It doesn't tell me what the mods themselves should be - health mods or something else, nor does it go into any detail on protection vs health vs defense, offense, crit, etc. Also, it doesn't tell me how to mod all my other characters. And eventually, I'll need to know how to mod reworked Palpatine/Thrawn. So, until I know how to mod everyone and whether Vader/Tarkin/TFP/KRU/Fett can beat Palpatine/Sion teams, I'm not sure if I should put all my resources into it, or to continue putting them into Phoenix.
If I go with my transition team, where should I put my 2x Omega upgrades? Vader, Tarkin, or TFP and which abilities take priority?
