Meta in a Chaze combo."Bremlo1486;c-1162061" wrote:
A new DS toon that could put Rex or Rebels at risk could upset things. We couldn't possibly ask or expect that. Gotta protect Rex and Rebels at all times.

You got to admire the way that they managed to really protect the current meta and their beloved Chaze while supposedly trying to shift the arena.
1. Increasing a lot of terrible empire toons to the status of better but still not good enough.
2. Hiding the few actually good empire toons behind 1 hard node, and that node one that many people cannot even unlock/ 3 star and behind the need of having aditional LS teams .
3. Making sure that even the good toons need multiple omegas and zetas to utilize all their abilities in their kitt, while the rebels, with the exception of R2, don't even need one omega (obviously they help)
4. Also making sure that even the good toons need great mods, while rebels can reach the top of arenas without them.
5. Taking care that the one toon that is suposedly the counter of this meta works just as good with the meta, while at the same time making sure that R2 only works in LS teams.
In conclusion how do you keep safe your rebels and thier LS friends? Making after a year of LS domination ( minus the 2 months when Zaul ruled) a DS team that can beat them but is unavailable for more than 90% of the F2P players."Nebulous;c-1161186" wrote:

Without knowing your potency and his tenacity (maybe his 'ebb and flow' isn't zeta), I can't really argue with you. For me, my thrawn has 166% tenacity while fractured. This means anyone with 66% or fewer potency points I'll resist 100% of the time.
I know that isnt right within the game. My palp has +12% accuracy and 83% potency (before leadership is applied) and still is not able to consistently stun or land shock on sub 20% tenacity chaze teams without tenacity buff active. The game is broken in 1 direction. And yes the thrawn i faced was zeta, 7*, and gear 11 full slots filled. (Gw node 9 no less which means he was enhanced to boot) Not quite as much tenacity as yours, but still had close to 40% base tenacity. Anyways if the description was correct (as it should be), i should not have been able to do this, yet i did and continued to do so until he was killed. Too bad we can't battle within our guilds or you could have a guildmate demonstrate this.
As far as your accuracy, that is only for hitting the target and only indirectly impacts application of negative status effects as, most often, you need to land the hit to apply.
As far as your 80+% potency vs sub 20% tenacity and being resisted, that's because the formula is: Tenacity - Potency = resist chance, 15% is min no matter how wide the gap.
So plugging in your numbers: 20T - 80P = -60 which is turned into 15% resist chance (cannot fall below this number)
Let's plug in my numbers: 166T - 60P = 106% chance to resist
The same 15% chance goes to applying debuffs too, so no matter what u get the base 15% chance of resisting or suffering debuffs"T4ct1c4l_J0k3r;c-1162767" wrote:

What kind of crack are you smoking again? Chaze teams are still the most ridiculous teams to face. Nihilus is definitely not the meta, don't even try to go there. Shard after shard are gk, chaze, r2, rex teams left and right. things have gotten better for darkside since thrawn release but its still not a meta team. Give palp 200-300% health and armor (so he dont get 1 shot by a healer of all things, and fix the hidden tenacity in chaze teams) to go with the new darkside offerings and ds might just have a meta.
DN is the most used toons according to the report, just before GK and Chaze, making him a META. He's like Chaze or GK and can fit in every teams and is part of the triple cleanse team too.
One of the usual top team is GK(L), Chaze, DN + 5th (R2, Thrawn, put who you want it works).- fake for sure

META; most effective tactics avalable; so one toon isn't META, but part of, currently 3xcleanse is the meta. And core group of this are rex, gk, chase, the 5th guy is What you want- And even if we get numerous rework of ds toons, it's doesn't change a thing, they aren't good enough. How come rebells and jedi have become stronger during an empire pass?
- I smell a META meaning / definition / acronym debate coming....:)
With a core of DN, DT, Thrawn, and Tarkin you can configure a DS team around them to beat any LS based squad at a high rate.
DS is as good and I think clearly better than LS right now - the issue comes down to it's more of a whale / p2p build that's mod and gear heavy to put together strong full DS teams. Chaze / GK / R2 / Rex do everything passively, you don't need much more than mediocre mods..you don't even need to actually control the team as so many skills just happen without the player doing anything (TM gain, counters, heals, HoTs, taunts, crit immunity...on and on). You don't need max stars or gear. Chaze / GK / R2 is the easiest and most effective team for the majority of players to play so they are going to remain widely used. That doesn't mean they are the best though.
