Like many said before: Hoard the gear - MK3 Carbanti, Stun Cuffs, Stun Guns, Golden Eyes etc., that's way better than gearing them now. If you decide to go for it after we know the requirements do it but stick to it no matter what.
You only have one chance in a long time to go for the current meta / soon upcoming meta so think about it very closely. Most people who do this are either spenders or have a good crystal income from high ranks in arenas.
If you can't or don't want to chase the meta for now make sure to get some ground solid teams like Geos, JKR, Empire etc. for different game modes. While doing that you can slowly build your arena team and climb over time. This may take some years, i for myself needed well over 2 1/2. But now i'm at the top of it and those crystals are more than rewarding for all the time i had to bite dust.

Yeah, I'm trying to get my 1 time shot in here for FO meta. I am trying to build up for most semi-good teams. I have a good Empire, Geos, Rebels. I'm seriously considering buying the Hyperdrive Bundle to give me a huge boost. I'd get CLS and most of the other good legendary toons. My fleet arena shard is pretty new and bad, so once I get chimera I can push and get those sweet crystals. I mean sadly, knowing the too new FO toons will probably be needed for the new kylo, I'm probably not going to be able to get them first time.
