As soon as you can upgrade Finn's leader ability to Zeta level. Unfortunately they're pretty middle of the pack until then.

Even after the zeta they do nothing against triple cleanser teams. They rely too much on expose and apart from Rey their damage output is just meh

You realize you don't have to use them on defense, right? Just switch to a better defensive AI for your last battle.

EDIT: Unless you're saying they don't do anything on offense against triple cleanse? In which case there's a video right here, right now, showing a team of just Finn, Poe, and Trooper (other two slots empty, not dead) beating a #1 ranked triple cleanse team without taking any damage.

Was there a fair amount of luck on their part? Sure. But luck or no, that shouldn't even be possible.

You do realize the concept of RNG right? There is no luck in this game at all. Just a random dice roll that dictates whether an attack does something or not. The fact that they won with that team was inevitable. What they most likely didn't show was the hundreds of attempts at that fight to achieve what they showed. In theory I could solo the entire Heroic Rancor Raid with my 7* Gear 5 Cad Bane because of his leader ability giving dodge chance. Again, beating a team on offence means absolutely nothing anymore because nearly any team that's decently geared and modded right can win on offence. What you don't seem to grasp is how easy it is to beat when it's defending. And the concept of throwing in a defensive team as your last one is moronic because no matter what you put in there somebody on your shard will beat it, so you've effectively thrown away an attack for that day that could have taken you to a higher rank.
