I'm maxing my droids just to toy around with comps. I mean I did way back when by the pack. I've been using maxed 86 on comps for a bit, love him.
Maybe our droid expert here can help with my droid issues/concerns. I've tested Max 88 and HK from Allies
My issues with droids are.....
1. Poe is no longer their protector he is too slow now. RG could fill in, but 88 is too easily 1 shot so he'd not activate
2. 88 is slow with very low survivibility. I can't tell you the last time he got an action against me. Unless he is on a team with Rey and another fast cannon, even then he almost never does.
3. HK does not do a lot of damage and is slow. To me he is a lower HP 5's with an AOE instead of assist and res instead of counter, so a Lesser 5's.
4. The team kills and dies by the IG's. If they die fast you lose. If they live you have a chance to do damage.
5. Finally defensively they are so easily picked apart. I actually target the droid build on the occasion he is higher than me after I've not fought overnight or during work because I know it is an easy win.
Now if the force favors them and the droids live to move then they can inflict pain and suffering very fast. I use them in GW towards the end. Presently I think of the 4 droids(did not include GG) 86 is really, to me, the only one really viable at high level arena.
If our droid expert @Reyia has any wisdom to share on this I would be all ears.
My own visión, that I have been preaching for long:
1) don't use Poe then. You don't need a tank if you overload the board with threats. Classic po-po droids had just 2 threats, they need them to survive long enough to kill everything. Today you can play with HK, 88, 86, Geo and QGJ. 4 of them can bring real pain and even 1/shot dudes, the other guy gives TM and THIRTY percent crit to droids. Yes, you can kill 2/in the first round. And still be 3-3 at the end of the first round...
2) 88 is slow, but you can have up to 3 dudes who can call him on assist, and if he crits, he instantly acts. Then AoE Blocks and self heal to near max health. He is also the third or fourth most important character in the assist heavy setup, so he is an aceptable cassualty.
3) HK AOE does poor damage but can offense down and ability block dudes, especially Jedis, and if he get enough crits with the AOE he acts again. Fives do about 1600 damage, HK crits for 4000 when self-buffed (it counts in the same attack it self-buffs), up to 5000 when called as an assist for 86. While he is not FOTP or Rey, his attacks hurt decent enough in the proper setup
4) the team kills and dies by the assist attacks. That is 86 and Geo, plus QGJ if you go that route.
5) I think all teams die in defense against properly built attscking teams
Yes I know it well I sit up top daily.
I run Poggle as my lead QGJ,GS,86,Dooku so I get the assists bring death fast. 86 is an absolute monster.
I plan to try them. I mean I'm like 50/100 on them at gear 8 so why not huh?
On number 2 I must have missed how he instantly acts on crit?
When you use rapid fire in IG88 it does damage to all enemies. HK leader makes allies gain 30% turn meter on a critical hit. When IG88 does his AOE if he crits on 4 enemies it's 4 x 30% = 120 % turn meter and he can immediately attack again.
At skill level 8, hK47 gives 50% TM on crits, so you need just 2 crits to do the Spin Of Death. Almost guaranteed with 69% crit chance
It's a 69% (or whatever, I didn't check your math) increase in critical rating, not a 69% chance of a crit. Nobody knows exactly what the critical chance figure translates to in real % terms.
I dont think that's true. We have a pretty good idea, with a decent level of confidence thanks to linear regressions

I'm not entirely convinced, firstly, he makes a lot of assumptions and secondly, there's no data set to examine how he validated his results. He may be correct but he may not be either.
When even the developers have mistaken ideas on how mechanics work, I take any claims of explaining them with a big grain of salt.
