Roster development - advice please!

Here’s my profile:
https://swgoh.gg/p/716997717/
It would be easy to drift from here and get a bit lost....If I put my current plan I’d be extremely grateful for some constructive criticism!

1) ARENA - Gold Rings on GMY, Ezra and Kanan. Slice mods to Gold (not 6* though, so I can swap mods easily).
—> Kanan will be eventually replaced by GK or Aayla(not farming her until after Vets)
2) Cantina Energy —> Vets, no distractions.
3) Guild Store —> Dengar to 7* and Gear him to G10+, then Starck, then Jyn
4) Normal Energy—> last 80 Bastila Shards, Hoth Rebel Soldier.
5) Existing characters —>
Boba to G12
Zam, Greedo, Cad Bane to G11
sRey & Finn to G10
BB8, Ventress, Datcha, Han to G11+

Zetas —> IBAT, Shoots First, Rampage.
Then Balanced Tactics, Merciless Pursuit & Agressive Tactician.

Aiming at HAAT with first 3 Zetas, Aiming at Chewie 7* and JTR with other farms. Starck would give me 5 Imperial Troopers.

Getting GMY and Ezra to G12 is definitely worthwhile. You might be satisfied with Kanan at G11, though, especially if you plan is to swap him out with a better toon as soon as you can.

Don't worry about getting Mods to Gold. Instead, I recommend that you sort your Mods by speed, and just work on Slicing the fastest ones first, regardless of their tier. I have gotten 5 Mods up to +18 Speed or greater, just by slicing some fast blues up to purple. Getting them to Gold is only important if you're actually going to take them on up to 6e.

How far away are you from unlocking General Kenobi? I honestly wouldn't bother with Aayla. If you don't have a great 5th option for a Jedi, just use a non-Jedi until you get Kenobi or Hermit Yoda ready for that team. Commander Luke, Grand Admiral Thrawn, and especially Darth Nihilus are terrific on a Bastila-lead Jedi team.

Plan looks pretty good. However, you'll want to get Scavenger Rey to at least G11 (12 is better) for a good phase 1 STR Resistance team. Also, you'll probably need your Ventress to be G12 to be effective in the HAAT; she's somewhat squishy, even at G11, so the tank main gun shot can kill her, even with buffs active to protect her. You'll want BB-8 to G12, too, but he can survive pretty well at G11 in the HAAT, since he evades well and often. Han will need to go to G12 for the STR, and to be effective in various game modes. He, too, is real squishy until you get that G12 gear on him.

IBAT, Shoots First, and Rampage are all terrific Zetas, and definitely worthwhile if you're focusing on getting a HAAT team going that can get you top placement in your guild. That'll help you get GK a lot faster, and get better gear and other loot - nothing wrong with that.

As for the other three Zetas that you mentioned, they're all terrific and make the factions that they're associated with really shine. However, your Resistance, First Order, and Imperial Troopers are all pretty underdeveloped. Those Zetas aren't going to really help you much until you gear up your toons. Once you've got everybody G9-11 within the squad, then you can worry about applying those Zetas. Until then, they can't really "shine" and would just be a waste.

  • Thank you - really useful. I suppose I don’t need to worry about 4,5,6th Zetas yet anyway.

Also, Since I’m going to be working on BB8, sRey and Finn & likely to be not quite ready for the next JTR (should be soon) then maybe working on Poe and RT, RP would make sense too —> leading to a more solid justification for Balanced Tactics.
Plus I think that would give me 3 HAAT teams?
    1) Datcha(l), zHan, zCLS (CLS needs to escape!)
    2) zFinn(l): sRey, RT, RP, Poe
    3) AA(l), zCLS, zVentress, zThrawn and BB8
  • I agree with pretty much everything @Val_Galahadred said, it's sound advice.

Unless your guild already struggles with HAAT p2 I'd put Balanced Tactics way down the list of priorities. Outside of HAAT, its main use is for TW offence and you have more urgent priorities than improving your TW game. Similarly with Merciless Pursuit. You could make an argument for aggressive tactician but again you'd need to have a solid trooper team around you. In my opinion it's better to focus on other sith raid/arena zetas first.

This is almost exactly the same lineup that I use to get over 30M damage in every HAAT; last night I got over 37 Million. Only difference is that I use BB-8 on that second team (instead of Resistance Pilot), and escape him, as well. I usually start trying to Escape when the tank has about 10 turns to Enrage, because I always get poor RNG on BB-8's escape, and it usually takes me 5 or 6 tries.

That technique allows me to take out all of Phase 1, and then about half of Phase 2. Then I can do all of Phases 3 and 4 with that last team.
