So, this is what I'm thinking: Lando lead Han Leia Chewie IG 88 Good idea or bad idea? Disclaimer : I have this team nowhere close to ready as far as Chewie and 88 go.

Ok so here's my objective opinion. I don't think you would plummet. And what does that even mean? You'd drop to 25? I beat meta teams all the time (with non meta teams) that are supposed to be "good on D" so there's really no such thing as a defense that "holds its own". People stay in top ten by gemming back.
The challenge I have with your OP is the Arena position you're trying for. If you're trying to get to #1, then Toukai's sarcastic response may hold some water. But if you're just going for a sub 20, that team would do great, provided you had the proper gear and mods. And it would be refreshing to see something new for a change.
