Separatist droid tweaks

Hi Swgoh community,

Firstly, thank you for stopping by.

Very simply, I have created this thread to suggest some tweaks for the separatist droid team. Ideally I would like them to be a bit more competitive and worthy of the investment required to obtain the general himself, max out the gear, 7* the marquee's, and apply the 6 zetas.

I was thinking about making a poll but if you guys have some suggestions for tweaks, i want you to be able to post them too and get feedback without having to wait for me to edit the poll. So the way this will work:

For each post below, I'll propose one tweak and the rationale behind why I think the team needs this tweak. If you like the suggestion, please like the post.

If you have your own suggestion for a tweak, please post it, along with your rationale. Please do not group multiple suggestions in one post, as someone may support one of your suggestions, but not another one.

If you think the faction is fine where it is, simply do not press the like button on any of the suggestion posts.

My aim here is to provide CG with some useful community feedback on the faction.
  • Suggestion:

    General Grievous Metaloid Monstrosity

Add a line to the end of this skill which reads 'Additionally if General Grievous is marked when he falls below 100% health, he moves this mark to the healthiest droid.'

    Rationale:

Mods considered equal, Revan absolutely demolishes Grievous on attack.

**Hot tip: mark the general and hit auto** :)

But more seriously - once Grievous is out of the way, the damage for the sep droid team is severely hampered and they will lose. While the sep droids can win this fight on attack, it's not even close on defense.

I believe this tweak will make Revan teams seriously reconsider marking Grievous. Revan teams should still win quite handily on attack, but they might have to put in a bit more effort.
  • Suggestion:

    B1 droid battalion

Add a line to the end of this skill which reads 'Stacks of droid battalion are not effected by % damage based skills'.

    Rationale:

Mods considered equal, Grievous teams are completely dominated by Traya lead sith squads. One of the main reasons for this is because Traya's leadership removes 8 stacks of droid battalion every time B1 assists (which is every ally turn). Then, every time Grievous takes a turn, another 8 stacks of droid battalion is removed.

Basically against sith, B1 is destroyed very early in this fight with almost no effort from the sith team. There is nothing you can do to stop this. In a nutshell, you are left with 4 droids, no healing, and one of them is isolated. You pretty much have no hope of winning this fight.

This tweak will allow B1 to survive much longer in fights and actually become a threat which sith teams need to consider.
  • Suggestion:

    B2 Mow down

Add a line to the end of this skill which reads 'This ability cannot be countered'.

    Rationale:

Mods considered equal, Grievous teams are completely dominated by CLS lead rebel squads. The reason is obviously strong counter attacks, but here's the real problem...

Separatist droids are organically a very low speed team. They make up for with turn meter gain from hitting target locked enemies (best way to apply TL is grievous wounds AOE) and B2 applying debuffs (best is B2 mow down AOE).

Giving Mow down the 'cannot be countered' mechanism will certainly not make separatist droids completely dominate rebels (I'm quite sure rebels will still be a great counter for Sep droids due to bad AI lol) but it will allow the faction to generate some turn meter, giving a greater potential to win on attack without getting completely ruined by counter attacks
  • Agreed with all. Especially #2.
Would solve the plague issue as well.

Also, adding target lock cannot be dispelled to gg's lead would be enough for arena worthyness
  • People would know soon enough about b2. It's not like it's that difficult to discover once you got wasted by him :).

Another tweak I would suggest is also to drop Mark on b1 after stack loss. That's easy to explain, as it's hard for the whole battalion to have Mark right?
  • @CosmicJ

The line with mark moving is fine, but to kill sep droids you don't mark GG. You don't even mark b1. You mark b2 and this is it. I had battles on defense against Revan, when people couldn't bring GG down and got killed mostly by b2.

But I agree with all your suggestions mostly.
  • @Killbot5000 as much as I would love for GG to have undispellable TL, this would probably ruin the game as Revan did.. With ig-88 no team would get any buff right?:)

It would not break the game. It would at rock paper scissor.... it would bring back bastilla for instance , and maybe force greater effort into potency and tenacity.
Ig88 is mostly useless agaist zbastilla.

Maybe your right, but man, something has to give 98 out of 100 on my top 100 are revan.

Yes i know about b2... just not really trying to tell the whole community about that one.... thanks lol

But more seriously, as much as id love it, it is doubtful they would make a change to allow b2 to avoid mark... my intent with these was to make them work with the existing kits, make the faction a little stronger (to be worth the investment) but not totally op.
  • Good stuff, keep em coming. :)

Hopefully we get some more feedback in here (even if it's negative, perfectly fine with that.)
