Shard Requirement To Unlock Related To Character Strength?
Are the characters that require 80 shards to unlock more viable/powerful/useful than characters that cost 10/25/50? Or is it just randomized?

Understood. I was asking because I was thinking of prioritizing unlocking the 80 shard characters first, then the 50, then 25, then 10.
Ignore the shard requirements. Prioritize a team and unlock those characters.
As you progress in the game it won't really matter when you unlock, since as was stated they all need the same number of shards eventually anyways.
