Ship Speeds

So I’ve come across an issue when facing off against notiator with Chimera. My tie fighter is 200 speed with a relic 1 TFP and my Tie Advance is 188 with a relic 4 Vader.

Relic 5 Umbaran star fighter and relic 7 ETA 2 are 200 and 188, respectively. Umbaran always goes before my TF and ETA always goes before my Tie advance. They’re the same speeds... is this just almost universally bad RNG or do I need to keep relic-ing? How do we know who goes first in a speed tie?
  • Speed ties are typically coin flips, but there are mechanics at play that might mess with that. 5s, for example, grants TM to both himself and whoever he attacks, and JKA gains TM when allies drop below 100% health, just for starters.

Right. But why is fives consistently going first? Is it the relic difference?

The ships speeds in the stats are the ship speeds, period. Any increases because of pilot gear are automatically reflected in the stats.
