Whether true or not, isn't it better simply not to use it? The strength of vader's ship is the gtd target lock, working in tandem with biggs to keep his taunt and prot up, and as secondary to ensure tfp doesn't dodge attacks and grant tm to the enemy's capital. I'm top 20 and honestly use his special only if biggs is down and an enemy ship has counter (and I've never known the dispell not to work if target lock is present)
