Sid getting killed rd 1 is ok if he got his hit off - is your Poggle maxed? To take this damage - especially from maxed teams - you need to be of a similar build / max level.

I think you're just having a bad streak of the AI focus firing on Poggle / Sid. When I was testing vs. Phasma, I went through a 4 battle streak where I just got blown off the map - well, at least 2 of my toons did in rd 1 and I didn't have a legit shot at winning. I was just on the bad side of an assist call / bonus attack from FOTP. Your Sid should get off his hit generally more often than not, especially if you have him at max 153 speed. 50% of the time he will go before Poe anyway - keep that in mind.
