Some thoughts on g12

I think it's always up to the guild to decide how they are going to handle raids. If guilds allow full solo, then g12 doesn't matter. If they have other restrictions, I don't see why they either can't restrict g12 toons or the person can just pull out after a certain amount of damage.

The raids start off difficult and get easier once you get stronger. My guess is that guilds that find Heroic tank easy will be occupied with TB for a while, until the next thing comes along.

There wasn't any change to the Rancor raid besides implementing a better tie breaker mechanism. IMO, all they're doing is making territory battles end game content. Heroic Tank is no longer the end game raid. Newer players/guilds will still have it as a stepping stone, something they have to climb and conquer together.

Think of it as a mountain climbing expedition. Rancor was your Pico Bolivar, 4,978 meters tall. It took work to figure out how to safely climb that mountain. But eventually, as you trained and reached those heights and helped others in the guild do the same, it became easier.

Then you discovered Jengish Chokusu, 7,439 meters tall. That's your heroic tank raid. Another beast that took you and your guild to a whole new level to be able to conquer it and do so on a weekly basis.

Just because we're now finding Mount Everest doesn't mean that those guilds just now conquering Pico Bolivar will have any less of a challenge topping Jengish Chokusu. If they somehow managed to get a Commander Luke, they may have a head start on certain parts, but it'll still be a mountain for them to climb.

CLS made the rancor a complete joke even before g12. Plenty of setups can take the whole thing down on auto. Perhaps g12 will make it a bit quicker, but that doesn't really matter.
The tank will likely go faster as well. Any guild that has been doing HAAT for a while is already breeding throigh that anyway.

Best thing to do is add a new raid that uses the same tickets as Rancor, and eventually add a new raid that does the same and uses the same tickets as HAAT.

Keep the same rewards but more of the same loot table.

As long as we can and need to run older raids, there will be complaint for them.

Add raids that use the same currency and no one will kitten about it anymore.

Yeah raids are old news.
G12. Will be a MUST in arena if your shard is old

Won’t have an impact on raids. Rancor will be soloable in 4 instead of 6 minutes, hAAT will be down in 1 hour instead of 1 1/2 (depends on guild of course) biggest impact will be in Arena as others have said.

This. And that's the larger concern. People are already considering leaving guilds, as strong players staying in weaker guilds will now hurt them in more ways than just raid progression. It will arguably cost them arena slots as well and perhaps significantly. And what happens when G12 teams start showing up in your GW and you have no G12 toons yet? Just ask some of the mid-level players who are strong but don't have zetas what it's like facing zeta'd teams in node 9-12 of GW now.

As I said, I am going to try to withhold judgement until we learn/understand more about the process of TB and the rewards structure. But there are already some major red flags on the horizon that give me pause - definitely about spending and possibly about continuing playing.

I avoided g11 so far, so I can beat gw easily with my 3 g10-9 teams, because I rarely get any good team composition as enemy.
So, this means I will prolong this strategy of mine, until I max star all of the more useful toons in gw.

I would rather raise the level cap to 90 than have g12 the way they are doing it. They are forcing you to participate in TB and level certain chars to get to g12. That's just not right

I'd imagine g12 might put the power for those teams out of reach for mid level players. It will definitely unbreak nodes 10, 11, and 12 for the upper level players that aren't as fast to gear 12 I think.

I'm glad some other people are starting to see what could potentially happen to arena though. It's not going to be pretty.
