Something not right here....

So... is "can't drop below 100%" health really true..??

Umm...

  • Then they should add a one sentence explanation in ability description. That doesn't seem like too much to ask.

The way it reads currently, he can't die when 501st up.

    Clear mechanic instructions are helpful.

They would have to add that to too many kits. The only times they get mentioned are in the GL kits, because GL's take "massive damage" from instant kill abilities instead.

At some point you just have to know how certain things work. In this case, you have learned that instant kill abilities do not do damage, and as such they circumvent anything that prevents damage.

No where does it say he can’t be defeated when 501st allies are active. It simply says he can’t drop below 100% health, which would mean instant kill abilities bypass that rule

It's well known and old news. When G$ first came out, the same conversation was had in relation to DN's annihilate. Instant kill doesn't drop their health. It just kills them.

LOL, instant kill doesn't drop health. I get it, but that is stupid.

It isn't. Destroy abilities also work if a toon has dmg immunity. If it actually worked on health and protection, it would also trigger plenty of other effects that can happen when a toon reaches health tresholds. The explanation above your posts puts it very well. Those abilities are even called "destroy EFFECTS", not "destroy abilities". Because it's a status effect that's applied to the target. Boom, dead.
  • If you play Magic:
    Can't drop below 100% = Indestructible
    Destroy Effects = Exile
He can still leave the battlefield

So there is this set of principles by which the universe works, called mathematics. In this case, it is simple.

    Dead = health = 0.
    0 < 100
Cannot drop below 100% is violated by the whole dead thing.

Similar to the state of people after Thanos snapped his fingers, there are other states other than alive and dead. So while those are on your 0-100% scale, a state of removed, destroyed, or non existant are not.
