Have a 282 R2 myself, so I'll say go R2
Most of the top 10 arena teams in my shard have Raid Han, therefore, his initial shot often boosts my TM nicely. I am confident that a 279 speed R2D2 would be faster than anyone else in the top 10 - the next fastest is 276 I believe and no one has any characters at 280 or above yet.
