Stale Arena Team and Guessing the Meta

My strategy for this game has always been to have lots of decent teams instead of one super-tough arena team. Seemed more fun and diverse! But I've gotten to a point where what I'm left with is a bunch of squads all on the same level, a weak, stale arena team, and no way to guess who ought to rise to the top.
I've posted my roster below, but the summary is that I have darned decent teams of: Resistance, First Order, Rebels, Clones, Nightsisters, and Jedi. Phoenix is also on its way up. But none of them are AMAZING.
My current arena team is zQGJ (L), zBarriss, GM Yoda, CLS, and zR2D2. It's not... bad... but it's been dropping steadily since they introduced Gold Gear and all the new characters.
So my direct question (sorry it took so long) is: who should I spend all my time and energy gearing up to Gold? I also have two zetas waiting to drop but I've been saving them until I knew what the heck I was doing. My arena team, as-is, isn't probably worth it - it's stale and mismatched. Should I push Phoenix to Gold and Zeta them? Nightsisters? Rebels? First Order? Resistance? Too many choices, and please don't tell me to get brand-new characters and work on them! I'm already overwhelmed as it is. =)
