Being as I have no interest in competitive play in the game or “chasing metas”, I’m looking for advice on how to balance competitive activity for consistent crystal incomes so that I can put more focus on investing in characters I want to invest in.
You still need squads for aspects of the game.
HSTR P1 - Padme, JTR
HSTR P2 - Whatever
HSTR P3 - NS rez squad
DS TB - Sep droids and Assaj Dooku Nute
LS TB - Divine intervention squads
I don't know what else to say. I enjoy Jawas and making then worknat the 80k GP I have invested in them. I might relic 1 Nebit Scav and JE and leave Dathcha and Jawa at g12 +0- You are the only one that can really do that, or you will need to share a lot of information.
Which characters are you interested in?
What do you consider a good income, what works for you?
How do you feel about ships?
How active are your shards?
Where are you ranked?
How active is your guild?

No one can really tell you how to balance what you want, because to stay relevant in any area that has a crystal PO requires a fair amount of focus. Generally speaking, you will need to be playing for a bit before you can put a focus on the toons that "you want". You need to have a broad roster to be able to stay a little competitive and not chance the meta, because you will need to have access to a variety of toons to be able to make a non meta counter team. - If you rank in the 201-500 range in squad arena, you will have a daily crystal income of approximately 150 crystals from squad arena, dailies and daily login rewards. That's enough for 3 x 50 crystal energy refreshes. Add to that whatever crystals you gain from TB and a few individual events. That should be enough to farm the characters you like.
Also, having an active guild, that raids often and has high participation in TB (and TW) helps gearing your favorite characters and farming Han Solo, GK and Traya.
If you want more specific help please provide more information about your roster, guild and goals. - HKFactorySeasoned Rookie

No, I think that’s all the confirmation I needed. So basically, just do what I’ve already been doing, I’d say what I wanted was confirmation on whether or not I was already on the right track for that, since there are a lot of Empire, First Order, and Separatist, characters I’m trying to tackle. They have some roster infographics out there that show you path(s) that are optional. It is worth it to spend a few, cumulative, hours thinking about how you will develop it especially if you are f2p
I have just spent up to 2 months working on:
Wicket (finished now) for zeta mats
Vet Han (finished now)
Vet Chew (6*now )
Talzin (6*now) for NS team and zeta mats
Zombie (6* now)
Nest (6* now )
Plans:
Ebon Hawk
Sion (5* now)
Anakin Eta starfighter (3* now)
Zaalbaar (5*)
Nihilus (5*)
Nasty Basty (3*)
Holdo (5*now)
That's all keeping me busy for months. Do I want the Revans ? Nope. Do I need the Revans? Yes. Realistically, they are critical to a player's high quality roster. There is 0 Jedi team comparable to Revan. So I will get happy and emo Revan and Malak.
Gas is coming. You just gotta grind- HKFactorySeasoned Rookie

To be perfectly honest, I couldn’t care less about that “high quality roster” stuff, I just want the Revans because I like Revan, just like how I don’t care about the nightsisters so I’ve hardly touched them.
