I'm sorry, after reading most of the comments I'm under the impression most want thrawn to be a support unit, did you not see him fight the assasin droids or agent Kallus? He's an Extremlty intelligent attacker, probably similar to a jyn erso leader where he can expose the enemies and really capitalize on them.
