- In general tanks should never have a speed arrow, u want them with tons if health and protection so they soak up damage, not going as fast as possible so their taunts expire.
- Anyone that needs to do something before they taunt or has an important ability (Sion) should be somewhat fast. Paploo and Bossk are engines and really needs to be fast. Storm Han and Scarif Pathfinder are also engines. Vandor should be fast. He doesnt taunt but has to use his basic or get a buff before his protection/rez engine starts. Pre and Auto taunters like Shore, GK, L3, K2, Sith Trooper, Zaalbar, Baze and Royal Guard can be slow. Auto Taunters also get the best use out of crit reduction arrows, since they will be taunting so much.
GK is an either or case because he auto taunts but also has 2 really good abilities that are good to use early. Juhani arguably could use damage mods and speed, but I'm still testing her.
I personally think that a crit reduction arrow with a high 15+ speed secondary is the God-mod for many tanks. - I like to save my good crit avoidance arrows (the ones with speed secondaries and other useful secondaries) for teams/characters that get bonus crit avoidance from another source as well. E.g. The CA on traya, Carth and qira teams combined with the crit avoidance arrow is really meaningful (can get up to 95% for a tank on a qira team). The CA arrow just on it's own I find still to be a bit lackluster vs a protection/health arrow with great speed secondary or just a straight up speed arrow on the ones that @VonZant outlined need some speed to be useful.
One of my favourite mods; wish the rest lived up to this one.- I was going to make fun of you for calling VanChew a tank until I looked and discovered he's a tank.
With that said, good post. There are still cases where you want an autotaunter faster though.. Shore can reapply taunt and heal/crit immunity faster by going faster. L3 can get to mk2 (and thus buff her defense), reapply taunt, and heal more by going faster. "TVF;c-1873277" wrote:

When I started running them in Arena I had L3 super fast for the reason you posted. But I swapped to a health arrow with speed secondary and noticed almost no difference. She gains so much TM that she is going to go very early and often no matter what. But she is an edge case and could go either way.- And for whatever it's worth, mechanic-wise I think Sion is the best designed tank in the game. He has nasty abilities, a recurring taunt and a building threat mechanic all in one bad dude that make him a pain (har har) in all phases of a match. I really hope Mace gets a similar package.

Granted. When I ran her in arena it was on a CLS team in the traya meta, and I wanted her healing Han and Chewie constantly to overcome the attacking out of turn damage they would take. They would attack so often (especially Chewie) that they would practically kill themselves before the other side could damage them and grant L3 TM."joelgs23;d-205201" wrote:
In general, but more importantly for K2S0, Bosk and Paploo, is a Crit Avoidance worth having instead of Speed arrow?
For K2SO I don't care about speed. Go for survivability and tenacity. I also try and get his crit up because when he counters I want them to crit. I want him to be a beefy counter-puncher. He can't counter if he's stunned.- Han_GerbilSeasoned NoviceThanks everyone! Appreciate.
