Target Lock Madness

Has anyone tried using bistan, Vader and anakin as a starting lineup in ships?

The synergy and damage output from this three almost makes me think you could open without a tank.

Paired with AA the opening move would be insane.

1) bistan special, grant 35% TM and advantage to Vader or anakin
2) Vader or anakin basic, 35tm+adv to someone
3) Vader or anakin basic, tm/adv
4) aa double assist, grant 1-2x TM/adv
5) Vader continuously reapplies TL, TM/adv train keeps rolling, profit

Anakin and Vader hit hard normally so with advantage (Plus AA critical damage bonus) they could make short work of most enemies.

Anakins special could help deal with houndstooth.

Biggs seems like a natural fit off the bench. Or scimitar (apply to Vader for crit hit immunity)

Theorhetically silencers stun could mess up the flow a bit. Also anakins TL does have a chance of being resisted...

Is there a better way to take advantage of this synergy?

Unfortunately I don’t have anakin geared so can’t test it personally

    It's not a bad idea, but no tank really leaves you open. Anakin is a good ship, but both him and Vader if targetable will get shredded fairly easily. They probably wouldnt be able to take down HT quick enough.

    It might be interesting to try but I wouldnt get my hopes up.

    Also, not sure if this is a good thing or another roadblock for this team, but the first reinforcement will ba a tank. (I think that's how the AI will think at least). At that point in the battle I'm not sure that's going to help you.

    I tried similar ideas when ships got changed thinking I would take them at thier word and go punchy and full dog fight offense with ships, it didnt work as well as I had hoped.

    Speed and squishyness are your problems.

    Assuming all are maxed, opening turn order is Anakin, Vader, Bistan and there are faster opponents that can go before Anakin, most motably Tie Silencer with its stun but also the other three Ties, Umbaran and probably others.

    A maxed Home One will go right after Anakin if your TM train is disrupted and Defiant Volley would be very bad news for your squishy squadron.

    Yeah and that is out of date I guess


    Still not sure it would work, but it does give it some credence on paper, but like you said, with no one to take the heat, it's just too easy to pick apart.

    Thanks for all the thoughts. So it sounds like people think there should be a tank there... what do you think is best?

    I’m leaning towards bistan anakin + tank (probably HT, but could see Biggs since it’s a TL squad...) to start since Vader has the best reinforcement and anakin can heal himself a bit if he takes damage.

    Well HT is the better tank but if you are going TL heavy then I would try Biggs. You'd get taunt on him faster and feeding him TLs will increase his survivability.
