You bring up a very valid point. And if it wasn't for the fact that we've seen that wicket picture, i'd 100%agree with your reasoning. Who knows, they may do exactly what you said. After all, ewoks, although awesome in their own right, don't have the appeal as say, clones, or empire, or jedi. So they need to do something with them before they can make money off of the big name teddy bears.
