Not really a difficult decision, no one should be working on 34 different toons at one time- When in doubt, go CUP. Always.

Perhaps @CG_SBCrumb can explain to all of us players mired behind the never-ending Mk.5 Stun Gun gear wall (I have 0 and have 57 toons currently needing 1 or more!) how exactly they have "eased" the Stun Gun gear wall as they promised?! Because from where I'm sitting what they have actually done in-game is:
1) Removed Stun Guns from normal Fleet Nodes
2) Made the GET Store a 'hoard for Epic Confrontation and/or Capital Ships' store where you dare not spend any on gear if you ever want to be competitive with the new stronger squads/fleets, basically making it redundant as a source for gear for at least the next year.
3) NOT obviously added any, or any additional, Stun Guns or Carbantis to standard rewards from Raids or TW or TB and the GAC rewards even for someone able to reach Kyber I'm pretty sure wouldn't add up to more than 1 Mk.5 Stun Gun over the course of an entire month-long event!
4) NOT added additional tiers to the Daily Challenges (such as TAC Gear Challenge which currently gives Mk.4 Stun Gun pieces) so the Daily Challenges rewards are so out of touch with the current gear/power creep as to be virtually useless
So, exactly how has the Stun Gun gear wall been noticeably "eased"?! As without people buying crystals to buy Stun Guns, which doesn't come under the category of a gear easing, it appears to be worse than ever!
At current rate of Mk.5 Stun Gun salvage acquisition it'll take me about THREE YEARS just to get the ones needed for the 57 toons already needing them just at that one gear level, let alone subsequent gear levels, or those who require more than one at their existing gear level!"Rath_Tarr;c-2007678" wrote:

Ok, but I've finished 32 toons. How do I pick between 33 and 34?- Hardest decision for me is continuing to hold out until Malevolence is released to see if I want it more than Negotiator, particularly as the timeline seems to keep getting pushed out.
- VaderizerSeasoned NewcomerI'd bet a vault that all the people who complain about stun guns being removed from normal fleet nodes never used their fleet energy to farm stun guns in the first place.
Hardest decision for me I guess is "do I spend some gear on characters I'm currently using or keep hoarding for Episode 9 content." All those pretty green +'s are maddening. - Before I even opened the post, I thought - "Who to use my limited supply of stun guns for". So, yep. The OP nailed it. The biggest issue with stun guns (and carbanti and stun cuffs) is the simple fact that they are needed starting at G7....and for every gear level thereafter. I have characters with enough g12+ salvage to make several Mk12 stun guns...but they are waiting on the Mk5 parts to complete the piece.
The issue with that is that once you reach a certain level of play, your roster development comes to a screeching halt, as the ability to farm/acquire those specific gear pieces (the ones needed at G7, G8, G9, G10, G11, G12 and G12+) does not increase exponentially, the way the need does if you are unlocking/gearing up new characters while, at the same time, trying to push some of the stronger parts of your roster to g12 and g13.
Honestly, at this point, I'm having an easier time getting characters to higher relic level 6 than g11 and g12 because I have so many mk 12+ pieces laying around unused.
I think the issue with the quote from the development team regarding the "easing of previous gear tiers" is that some of the gear (stun guns, cuffs and carbantis) are used at ALL gear tiers beyond 7. There is no "previous" as it's also needed in the "current". I understand the need to gate, but that statement from the dev team is either intentionally misleading, or simply lacking the understanding of the need for those gear pieces at all levels. - I wonder if cg would take these threads more seriously if people didn’t list/number all the toons that could possibly use a stungun. It’s like saying kryotech gear crunch is bad because literally every toon needs them for g13. No, that’s not why it’s bad.
