I went live 4 weeks ago now, with 1100 cantina and 4500 normal energy plus quite a few crystals and sims. Went the standard Lando/Boba/STHan route pretty much following the F2P adaptive guide - deviated a bit when there were double-drops on FO squad so I farmed Kylo up to 7 star and have him in my core arena team. I have spent a little bit with a crystal refresh when I was low and one of the fleet bundles though you could get away with spending $0. My current arena squad is Lando/Boba/STHan/Ezra/Kylo.
It's been quite a ride, I'm now L66 still just holding onto top5 arena (finished 2nd today) and top10 fleet (which now also has payout crystals so worth investing time in developing) - I drop down as low as rank 15 overnight. My main advice would be to focus on arena, spending most of your crystal refreshes on that team getting them starred up and g7 as soon as you can but read up on how to manage GW (you need a deep roster with suicide squads and healer teams) and you also really need to understand and farm mods once you get above L50 to keep in the top5. The "warrior presents" youtube vids explain stuff really well, especially mods.
