I used to say that alot as well. But the teams that fall off the meta, seem to lose ground elsewhere. The "Disrupt" method of adding new heroes to counter existing tends to reduce the effectiveness of teams. It's the only way the game makes money. Which after all this time, works for SWGOH so it won't change.
My JKR team used to be a good blocker in TW, now it's not even a speed bump in node 1. LSTB it can barely compete in phase 1. Such is the way of things.
