Has anybody tried admiral Thrawn with his leadership zeta in arena yet. It looks like he could be really good with a whole bunch of tanks (Pick 3 from RG Gk ShT Storm or even Baze) and DN. I tried him out in GW vs a GK lead Zarris Chaze and DN squad. After annihilating DN I actually funneled the match with more protection than I started with, and this was without his zeta. I used Thrawn (5k power) gk RG ShT and DN. It seems pretty staunch. Does anybody have a zeta on his leadership yet?

No zeta here yet but seriously considering it as my first zeta, all of Thrawn abilities look pretty solid

That's what I'm trying to figure out too, which of his zetas make the most sense to use first. I have enough to do both out of the bat but I'd rather pick the one that might be more effective in arena.How would that leader zeta/3 tank idea work in arena? Wouldn't it just be smoked by a Baze AoE dispel and leave the tanks vulnerable due to their tepid offense?

I've got an arsenal of tanks that would just love to all roll out together but I fear that once fracture is up, it's easy pickin's. I guess the issue is if there's not enough offense to take out baze altogether (assuming your team on D is even smart enough to focus fire on baze to kill him) the human player will just AoE dispel and that's good night ... (e.g. target Thrawn or the #2 offense dealer on your team on D ... since the 3 tanks won't do much anyway)

The thing with his zeta unique is that it looks like it won't do nearly as much on defense and I already always win on offense. So maybe his lead is the better way to go 1st

Yeah it may switch to Thrawn DT RG DN and ShT but I think the more tanks they better so long as DN is in there.

I gave a zeta to his unique, so fracture can work better.

About Thrawn lead, indeed is good. But after running some tests on GW realized that the juicy part is 20% TM gain whenever suffer a debuff, and there lies the problem. Meta team is all about cleanse, so u won't get much debuff during the battle. Was cool when i faced a sith squad and vader landed 5 debuffs, all my empire jumped 80% TM so sweet!

That's why i think against the current meta, Thrawn is better as support than leader.

The second juicy part is the protection heal. That would be very useful on ShT and RG. I've heard the zeta makes a huge difference on Thrawn tank squads as it appears that it would.

I am seriously considering it. I just need more purple mats! I blew them all on Phoenix squad, lol.

I put Thrawn in my arena team last night.

Thrawn lead 5* G10
Krennick 5* G10
DT 7* G11 (no zeta)
Tarkin 7* G11 (unique zeta)
Shore 6* G10

Krennick is a bit of a liability right now since he is so squishy. I could replace him with RG who is G11 but it is a fun comp. I just put it on auto and watch them go to town.

Agree 100% - I run Vader and faced Thrawn and it was like an Empire Rex lead - they just swarmed :)

So ... Thrawn's leader counters his own Dark side / Empire faction :)

@Olddumper - I have Veers zeta, and I think his kit looks insane to run as lead with Veers vs. the tank - they will gain so much TM, recover protection non-stop, and he can also slow the tank and put D down - His lead should blow up some Trooper scores in the tank as he fills their holes perfect with tank slow + more TM gain to get them rolling
