If your shard is Light-side team heavy, Vader is great with a fast SA / fast Thrawn against Chaze / Rex / R2 / GK ...once you get it tuned and have the speed humming you can blow them off the field with SA / Vader / Thrawn / EP / DN / Tarkin / DT combos
The problem with Vader is Thrawn leads and also Tarkin leads - Tarkin can outspeed Vader and pin him pretty good and Thrawn leads vs. zDV is beyond ridiculous. I used zDV as my lead exclusively after R2 was released up until a few days after Thrawn's event ended. DS teams though, and Vader especially, you need some solid speed mods to really make it work.
