Go into ships menu and you'll see that R2-d2 and other droids are being put in a future update as essentially mods for ships. Also You forgot Aura Sing (Lmao).
But If you want to view this situation illogically and judge characters by their actions INSTEAD of what they cause mentally, socially, or politically, then Leia Is BY FAR superior to Padme.
I don't see anything in the ships menu that says R2-D2 is being added as a CHARACTER (i.e., light side, support, droid, rebel and, more importantly, usable in ground combat)
As to Leia's social, mental and political acumen, she's directly involved in creating the Rebellion, directly involved in destroying the Death Star AND the Empire, and is an Alderaanian Princess. In the political realm, Alderaan was far more influential than Naboo in the Galactic Senate. Bail Organa much? She inspired not only Luke and Han, but thousands of Rebel troops. She coordinated military action at every level of the station provided her by the Rebel Alliance.
Padme's political career was quite passionate, but her election was largely a populist wave within the Naboo population for her role in fighting the Trade Federation. She was an outspoken activist in the Senate, which worked against her more than it did for her as she lacked an objective political mind, unlike Senator Organa who would pick his battles when they could be won. Jar-Jar Binks had a greater impact than Padme Amidala in creating the Galactic Empire.
Furthermore, Anakin's visions of Padme's death were exactly that: His visions. Not hers. She did not use the Force to influence these and Anakin's own doubts were his, and the Republic's undoing. Saying that Padme was the cause of his betrayal completely flies in the face of the lesson that is being taught by the rise of Darth Vader. Maybe you should actually study deductive logic before accusing someone of thinking illogically.
To that end, Leia is a true Star Wars icon and has been for over 30 years. She has literally represented the franchise longer, and with a wider reach. Currently, the only female character in the series that is poised to be more of an icon is Rey. Padme doesn't come close.
