Don't discount CLS, although the people you need for unlocking him aren't great (although Old Ben is handy), you don't need to gear them up too much to finish the event. Assuming that you're relatively early on in the game, not having the optimum CLS team (CLS, han, Chewie, chewpio and 3po) isn't much of a disadvantage because you normally pick them up along the way.
